Thank you for checking in for another Killamarsh Kestrels’ newsletter. This summer, we have seen people continuing to love running whilst at the same time achieving a lot of PBs! The following is a list of shout outs to some of those, including our second claim runners –
• Ian W – is currently leading the PB league including a 5K PB from Rother Valley Parkrun 19:20
• Iain R – 10k PB at York 50:27 (also well done on a hilly Castle parkrun PB 24:28)
• Laura B – 5k PB at Rother Valley Parkrun 29:35 (paced by Nat 😊) and a 10K PB at Wilne 01:01:53
• Sara HM – 5k PB at RV Parkrun 24:30

Kestrels have continued to represent us at the KMR series. A special mention to Sara HM who came first 1st in her age category FV45 at KMR Wickersley Chase and Phillip M also 1st in his age category MV55 at KMR Wickersley Chase as well.
Kestrels have gotten fully stuck in to the local fell races this year. The Salt Cellar race has been labelled ‘never again’ by many despite the wonderful photos. Well done to Kev, Louise, Andy, Sara, Kati and Laura. Eyam Fell Race was completed by Kev, Louise, Martin, Nat B, Andy, Sara and Amy.
Ultra events Jade completed the Belper Rover 30K, Phil and Kate A completed the Race to the Stones which was 100K over 2 days. All three showing great stamina!
Finally, we have all been so proud of Paul McClintock who ran 62 miles in July as a challenge to raise money for cancer research. The challenge finished at Rotherham Parkrun where a number of Kestrels turned up to support and cheer him in. He raised £635. Paul continues to set himself new running targets each week and is indeed smashing them.
