If you follow Google Maps to Spinkhill Athletics Track, it will take you through a one-way system to a small dimly lit car park near the track. If you don’t fancy the windy road, you can also park in the college car park. Please note, the small road down to the track is not one way.

More details here :

The whole session will be fully inclusive of runners of all abilities, structured using a whistle to indicate when to start and finish efforts so all are welcome! For those of you who like to plan ahead, we will be
completing the following…

  • 18:45 – Warm up. Jog around the track.
  • 19:00 – Session
  • 2 x 4 minutes (2 minute recovery)

  • 2 x 1 minute (45 seconds recovery)
  • 2 x 30 seconds (30 second recovery)
  • 19:30 – Cool down

We have the track until 19.45, so you are free to continue using it after the session until then. It would be advised to jog at least 3 laps afterwards to cool down.

Enjoy!!

Defibrillator demonstration event

Hi Everyone,

The club is hosting a defibrillator demonstration event at the West End Hotel on Thursday 5th September at 8pm lasting around an hour.

The event will cover the basics of how to use a defib, what steps to take during a cardiac arrest, and provide hands-on practice with a dummy defibrillator and CPR. The evening is aimed at people, such as myself who wouldn’t have a clue what to do in the event of an emergency.

Its completely free to attend, you can have a pint and attending a defib demo is probably the most selfless thing you could ever do as you’ll never perform CPR on yourself.

The demo will be quite basic for anyone who is medically trained but everyone is welcome to watch and have a pint together.

Thanks
