End of April / May news – another big month for the Killamarsh Kestrels, with many miles completed!
Steel City 60 miles – won by Mark Plant. He knocked 1 hour off his PB. 6460 feet elevation. Just wow! 👏🏆
Greno Trail Run – glorious route in the sun conquered by Sam, Kev, Annie, Kati, Jon C and Amy☀️🌳
Waverly Dash – Sara, Andy, Ian, Nat N, Laura, Richard, Jon W. 1st Male for Ian and 2nd Female for Nat N.
KMR series- began in Maltby with a quick 5K followed by chip butties 🍟with a good Kestrel turnout. There are lots more of these short distance evening events to follow in the series.
Spire Ultra 50 miles – completed by Tom Humphries in 06:55:59. Another just wow! 🤩
⭐Rother Valley Relays ⭐ – A star event that saw 14 teams entered, with 47 different runners (26 men & 21 women) 👏👏 A huge turn out from the Kestrels and lovely to see so many new and recent members taking part, as well as those returning from injuries.
Hathersage Hurtle – Annie (fast becoming queen of fells) completed this 20 mile event in 03:53:38 ⛰
Les Crownshaw’s fundraiser for British Heart Foundation – running, walking and riding 3.5 mile laps at Firbeck for BHF ❤️Amy, Andy, Jon C, Sara and Steve C all chipped in for this good cause. Steve clocked up about 32 miles! All rewarded with a delicious pie.
Eyam half marathon- saw a sterling return for Chris B after injury 👏 Tim and Amy also smashed the hills.
Edinburgh Marathon – Adam took his PB from 3.31 to 3.04.04. Amazing! 🏅
May has also seen many a fell race. King Kev and Amy completed Bamford Sheepdog trials, Sam was 3rd lady in Cressbrook crawl fell race. Nat N came first W50 at Totley, with Louise and Martin also running. As well as a lot of Parkrun tourism and PB achievements. Well done to all!

*Robin Friskney Relay Event – In association with Rawmarsh Runners we will host the first annual memorial run for Robin on Thursday 4th July at Rover Valley. Please speak to Chris B, Amy or any committee member if you can attend.
*The Three Lakes – 22nd of June. Please also continue to promote the event. Speak to Rachel or Paul for more details.
