As many of you know, the running community lost a dear friend on Christmas Eve in Robin Friskney.

Robin – our friend from Rawmarsh Runners - sadly passed away whilst taking part in the Kestrels Christmas Cracker run on the 24th December.

Robin was just 54 year old, a dovoted father, loving husband and a very dear friend to many and Christmas was his favourite time of year – he will be sadly, sadly missed.

A celebration of Robin’s life will be held on Wednesday 24th January 2024 at 10:15 at Rotherham crematorium S65 3NN, Robin will leave the family home at 10am. All welcome afterwards at the Fitzwilliam Arms, Taylor’s Lane, Parkgate S62 6EE.
People are being asked to wear Christmas Jumpers or Rawmarsh Runners club colours – Kestrels colours would also be good.

Donations to Notts & Lincs air ambulance who were in attendance on the 24th can be made via our Club bank account – please mark the Donation clearly as “Robin Donation” and Steve will pass on the whole Club donation.

With Christmas now upon us it’s a good time to update you on the key dates over the next few days, so here goes:

Sunday 24^th December – Christmas Cracker Run – meet at the Leisure centre for a 10km off-road social run with a mid-run tipple (Trail shoes needed). Note that the Leisure centre will be closed.

Tuesday 26^th December – No Club Run (Turkey Trot)

Thursday 28^th December – No Club Run (Ambles Revenge)

Tuesday 2^nd Jan – Eckington Via Morrisons

Thursday 4^th Jan – Wales Run

Sunday 7^th Jan – Retford Cross Country

Finally…. I’d like to wish all our amazing Kestrels family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and injury free new year!

We’ve had a great year so let’s hope next year is even better.
