Final XC at Worksop – Sunday 12th March

**Information for THIS Sundays Final XC Race at Worksop**

Start Time is 11am as usual but its about a mile to the start so meet about 10:15 at the venue.

The Worksop Harriers Look forward to welcoming all to finale of the Inter-Club Local XC on March 12th. Please pass on the below info to all attending the event

Parking
As per previous years, please use the extensive length of Retford Road (S80 2QA) to park (considerately!) for the event. Please avoid parking at the small pit top car park which will be used by the marshals and other locals. If there are football matches on there be limited to no parking at Manton Club itself

The Course
The course is the now well known 5.5 mile loop we have used in previous years. Starting off the footpath through Manton pit just off Retford Road (next to Bannatyne Gym S80 2QA) It is 99% the same except a very slight diversion at around 1.5 mile after venturing through the woods due to the path eroding. The course is over hard-packed stoney trails and mud so trail shoes are recommended. The weather is currently predicting to be wet but we are hoping to have the Coleman tent up so if each club could bring a bag for their members kit there will be space to store kit.

Post-Race
The final scores on the doors and presentation of the trophies will be held back at Manton Club (S80 2PU). Sandwiches, snacks and cakes will be provided along with coffee and tea and the bar will be open for those seeking other very reasonably priced refreshments to celebrate surviving another year of XC! The showers should be available for those wishing to make use in the changing rooms at Manton Club but for anyone going up to the club obviously shoes are to remain outside and give yourself a good shake to get rid of any adhered mud before venturing up stairs!

We hope everyone has many great memories of the season so far and thank you to all those who have made the initial four races possibly and we look forward to returning the favour this Sunday!

Handsworth XC on Sunday 12th February

Morning all – a reminder (if you needed it) thats its Handsworth XC on Sunday.

DONT FORGET YOUR NUMBERS!

– please see attached from handsworth for more details:

Hi everyone,

This is to confirm Handsworth Roadhogs are ready with the Handsworth leg of the inter club winter crossy series this coming Sunday (12th Feb) at 11am.

It will be the usual two lap course with the finish in the field behind Handsworth church at the top of the hill on Handsworth Road. The start will be on Grange Lane which is at the bottom of the same field. The course will be taped up and marshals will be at key locations. We’ve not had much rain recently so it’s currently fairly dry underfoot, trail shoes are probably the best footwear.

We really regret it’s not been possible to find a venue to ‘host’ the event – Sunday lunchtime is a peak time for pubs/clubs etc. It is suggested that toilet facilities are available at the ASDA on Handsworth Road near the Sheffield Parkway roundabout and at Morrisons just off the Parkway at Catcliffe. There are also the woods that we use for the course….

We will have bottles of water/crisps/sweets available at the finish.

It’s on street parking only so please car share if you can.

The weather forecast looks decent so we hope to see everyone on Sunday morning👍.

The two lap course is about 5.25 miles/8.5k and quite hilly😃
