NEWSLETTER
Hi
1st of all I would like to apologise for not sending the clubs best wishes to all of those that did the London Marathon. I suppose by now that you are back in training for next year so here goes SORRY AND WELL DONE.
Well done to Simon who came first in the Boston to Skegness Sea bank marathon on Sunday 8th June. Simon completed to run in 3hrs 3min wow
Sunday 29th June was the Humberside Half Marathon.
Jane Horry and John Davenport were two of the Kestrels that ran this both within their expected times. Janes’ finishing time was 1hr 42min and John completed in 1hr 45min. Both Jane and John enjoyed the race and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a challenge. Well done to anyone else that took part in the race.
3 Lakes Classic
3 lakes classic held on Sunday 22nd June again was a great success. Weather conditions were slightly better than last year if you can call blowing a gale better. Thank you to all that helped in making it a good day. Comments as usual were really good from the runners regards the drinks and food which were available after the race. Next year hopefully we will be holding the 3 lakes on 22nd June 2009 make a note in your diaries.
Running Nights
Unfortunately it s a moan. I know that it is summer BUT a few of the slower runners are getting left to run alone. One of our runners (female) hadn’t been on the new route around the back of the leisure centre so didn’t know where to go, everyone had passed her and even the group that she set off running with left her, she had to ask members of the public if they had seen any runners and which direction they had gone in. She didn’t catch her group up and had to return back to the centre on her own, upset she went home decided not to run again, fortunately she has returned.
I heard some people talking after Tuesday evenings run re a few runners passing them at a fast pace, not considering that they had a couple of dogs and young children, the runners didn’t even bother to slow down.
Please give consideration to others.
