• 10/08/2008 Thanks to all marshall's who turned up at Don Valley for the Doner run. It was so inspiring seeing some of the participants getting round the 5k course. It was wet but no one seemed to bother! The meal after was good and hope you all enjoyed it. We are now recruiting for the BUPA Great Yorkshire Run in September. We will need around 40 ( if possible) to man 2 drinks stations. See Ann Chambers for details.
• 09/08/2008 We are considering running a charity event and we would like to hear from the membership if there is any interest. We would be open to ideas for the actual event, e.g. multi-runs around clumber park or rother valley or maybe running the pennine way in relays. We need your idea's. Also which charities should benefit from the funds raised. Please email or see Les with any information.
• With the success of the Benidorm Marathon it has been suggested the club international event could be Majorca. This is held on October 18th 2009. The event consists of Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10k and fun run. If you can register your interest ASAP we should be able to get a decent discount on the booking.
• 29/07/2008 Congratulations to Rachael Bishop and Hubby Tim who married on 15th May 2008 in Cornwall in a little church in Rame which had no electricity so was lit by candles. The reception was held at Polhawn Fort, Rame which is an old military fort with its own grounds and private beach. Honeymoon the Maldives. Tim REALY knows how to treat a lady!

• 03/07/2008 On running nights will all the wizzy runners PLEASE stagger their starting times better. Some of the steady runners are being passed after the first 1/2 mile! The idea is that we all finish together - not start together. Your cooperation is appreciated
• 03/07/2008 The summer Kestrels BBQ is on Sunday 31st August. Bring your own food and drink. BBQ provided as per last year.
• 03/07/2008 Bridlington half marathon is on 19th October 2008. Quite a number of members are entering this race or expressing an interest. Entry forms available from the club folder. It has been suggested we all go to Filey for accommodation or B & B to make it a great social event as well as a good running event. So get your entry forms in and let's make a weekend of it!
• 31/05/2008 It seems that most of our members are shy!. We have no results for the Edinburgh marathon, no photo's of any description, no adverts, no information on anything! COME ON get your fingers out!. This site is only as good as the information provided. Alan Chambers
